Summer Fruit Desserts: How to Choose the Right Dessert Between Freshness, Creams and Textures

CATEGORIE

In summer, fruit changes the way we think about desserts. It is not simply a colourful or decorative ingredient: it brings juiciness, fragrance, gentle acidity, natural sweetness and a sense of lightness and freshness that is perfectly suited to warm summer days. This is why desserts made with summer fruit are often the most natural choice, from breakfast through to after dinner. And at La Fenice, we know something about that.

Choosing the right dessert, however, does not simply mean asking yourself which fruit you like best or which one is more in season than another. The time of day also matters, as do the temperature, the desired texture, the balance between cream and base, the presence of chocolate or dried fruit and nuts, the kind of break you wish to enjoy and the occasion itself. A tart, a spoon dessert and a fresh individual pastry can all begin with the same flavour and fruit, yet offer very different experiences. This is where the refined art of haute pâtisserie comes into play.

Why summer fruit works so well in pastry

Peaches, apricots, red berries, figs, melon, citrus fruits and small berries all have different profiles, but they share one precious quality: they bring vibrancy, colour and freshness to pastry creations. In a dessert, fruit can lighten a cream, make a soft base more interesting, create a contrast with shortcrust pastry or complement a richer, rounder element. Last but not least, it adds an unmistakable visual touch, allowing us to enjoy a dessert with our eyes as well. Its strength also lies in balance. A very juicy fruit can bring freshness, but it needs a structure that can contain it. A sweeter fruit calls for an acidic note or a base that is not too rich. A fragrant fruit, on the other hand, should be allowed to speak for itself without being overwhelmed by too many elements.

Fruit tart, realistic fruit-shaped individual dessert or spoon dessert: the choice depends on the moment

The fruit tart is a classic, a comforting and complete choice. It has a crumbly base, a soft homemade cream and a fresh layer of fruit on top. It works well in the middle of the morning, as an afternoon treat or as a simple dessert after a light lunch. It is ideal when you are looking for a familiar dessert, with clearly defined textures and a good balance between sweetness and freshness. The realistic fruit-shaped individual dessert with summer fruit is more suitable when you are looking for a precise experience, often built around several layers: a base, a cream, a gelée, a mousse, a crunchy note. Finally, it is the perfect choice when you want to surprise friends and family gathered around the table at the end of a meal. It is an interesting choice for those who enjoy tasting a carefully constructed dessert, where every element has a purpose and where appearance matters just as much as flavour. A spoon dessert, on the other hand, is perfectly suited to the warmest moments. Light fruit creams, soft textures and cool temperatures make it ideal for the afternoon or after dinner, almost as an alternative to a refreshing ice cream. It requires very little chewing and can therefore be more enjoyable when you are looking for something fresh and immediate.

The role of creams: lightness does not mean a lack of flavour

When it comes to summer desserts, there is a tendency to think that cream should almost disappear because it is too rich and autumnal. In fact, according to our Pastry Masters, a good cream does not weigh a dessert down when it is conceived in balance with the other elements. It can add depth, bring the ingredients together and enhance the fruit without overpowering its fragrance.

A vanilla cream, for example, pairs beautifully with red berries and summer peaches, as in our red berry Bavarian cream or our peach mignon. A more citrusy cream can bring freshness and vibrancy to sweeter fruits. A delicate mousse, on the other hand, makes the dessert lighter and more airy, as in the case of our realistic fruit-shaped creations.

How to choose a summer fruit dessert for breakfast

At breakfast, a fruit dessert should provide energy for the day without feeling excessive. A fresh brioche with jam, a slice of soft cake with seasonal fruit or a slice of simple, wholesome tart can all be good choices when paired with the right coffee or a refreshing drink, such as one of our freshly squeezed juices. Our advice is to start with the rhythm of the day ahead. If you are planning a long morning, a more substantial base is preferable. If you are looking for a light break before a walk or a day by the lake, a creation with fresh fruit and a delicate cream may be more suitable. At La Fenice you will find all of these options: all you have to do is choose the one that suits you best.

How to choose a summer dessert after lunch or dinner

After lunch, especially on hot days, it is best to favour fresh summer desserts with natural acidity and portions that are not too generous. Red berries, citrus fruits, peaches and apricots help bring the meal to a close with a clean, fresh sensation. We recommend our gelato, made entirely in our own workshop using carefully selected fresh ingredients: our water-based fruit flavours are particularly wholesome and refreshing. After dinner, on the other hand, you can choose something slightly more indulgent, provided it remains well balanced. A soft cream, a crunchy note and fresh fruit can create a complete dessert without becoming heavy: we recommend our Opera mignon with coffee and dark chocolate. If the meal has been rich, it is better to choose a creation in which fruit truly takes centre stage, such as our fresh fruit mignon on a bed of pastry cream. If dinner has been simple, a more structured individual dessert can also find its place: in this case, our exceptional realistic fruit creations are an absolute must.

Freshness, texture and the memory of flavour

A good summer fruit dessert is not judged solely by the beauty of its appearance. To be considered haute pâtisserie, it must have an inner logic: a base that provides structure, a cream that brings the elements together, fruit selected at the perfect stage of ripeness, and a balance between sweetness and vibrancy. When these elements work in harmony, the dessert remains in the memory without ever becoming overwhelming. It is a game, a constant search for balance that we at La Fenice continually pursue in our sweet creations.

FAQ

Which fruits are best suited to summer desserts?
Peaches, apricots, red berries, figs, citrus fruits and small berries are among the most versatile choices, as they offer fragrance, freshness and natural colour.

Is a fruit dessert always lighter?
Not always. It depends on the cream, the base, the portion and the overall balance. Fruit certainly helps to bring freshness, but it is not enough on its own.

Is a tart or a spoon dessert better in summer?
A tart is ideal when you are looking for a more complete structure. A spoon dessert is more suitable on hot days or after an already substantial meal.

How should coffee be paired with a fruit dessert?
With fresh and delicate desserts, a clean coffee that is not too overpowering is the best choice. With richer bases, a more intense espresso can be a better match.

Mille Miglia on Lake Garda: the most elegant place to experience the race between Sirmione and Lugana

CATEGORIES

Every year, the Mille Miglia offers unique thrills to fans of motorsports, elegance, and history. Described by Enzo Ferrari as “the most beautiful race in the world,” the Freccia Rossa passes through some of Italy’s most captivating landscapes, and one of the most anticipated moments is undoubtedly its passage across Lake Garda. The 2026 edition also took place along the lower Garda lake, passing through Desenzano, Sirmione, and the roads leading to Lugana, giving spectators the opportunity to admire over 400 historic cars in a unique setting just a stone’s throw from the lake, driven by famous celebrities such as Carlo Cracco and Gianni Morandi.

Where to watch the Mille Miglia in Sirmione and Lugana

Those wishing to attend the Mille Miglia on Lake Garda often seek a location that allows them to experience the event without sacrificing comfort. The Lugana area offers one of the most picturesque, convenient, and peaceful locations along the entire route: on one side, the lake is just steps away, on the other, the historic cars parade along the town street to the applause of the spectators. The race crosses the southern part of Lake Garda after passing through Desenzano, heading towards Sirmione and then the Veneto region.

Pasticceria La Fenice Bistrot: lunch and a Mille Miglia from the front row

During the Mille Miglia, La Fenice sets up elegant tables overlooking the race course, creating a truly unique experience that combines gastronomy, atmosphere, and entertainment. Seats are always limited and must be reserved on a first-come, first-served basis. Guests can sit along the road at tables set up especially for the event and watch the vintage cars pass by while enjoying a special menu, designed to celebrate the Lugana region and the flavors of Lake Garda. It’s a different way to experience the Mille Miglia: not simply watching a race, but participating in a day of style, conviviality, and history, in an original and authentic setting. The cars pass just meters from the tables, while the lake serves as the backdrop to one of the most iconic automotive events in the world.

Illustrious Guests and Celebrities

In recent years, the Mille Miglia has seen the participation of numerous well-known faces from the worlds of entertainment, television, sports, and Italian cuisine. Celebrities such as Carlo Cracco, Gianni Morandi, and many others have chosen to experience the unique atmosphere of the Freccia Rossa, contributing to making the event even more fascinating for the public. Along the route, it is not uncommon to encounter special crews, international collectors, and enthusiasts from around the world, drawn by the timeless allure of the historic cars and the uniqueness of the Italian route.

An experience that unites motors, the lake, and flavor

Experiencing the Mille Miglia in Lugana means being in a privileged position. On one side, the landscape of Lake Garda, on the other, the elegant roar of the historic cars crisscrossing the territory. For those looking to watch the Mille Miglia in Sirmione, where to eat during the race, or simply want an exclusive spot to watch the event, La Fenice offers one of the most evocative experiences on the entire Garda route. Between the scent of the lake, the elegance of the vintage cars, and cuisine created especially for the occasion, the Mille Miglia day becomes a memory destined to last a lifetime.

Useful information

The Mille Miglia takes place every year in June and passes through the lower Garda area during the first stage. It is recommended to book tables dedicated to the event in advance to ensure a prime position along the race route.

December, an end-of-year treat

CATEGORIES

December, at the Fenice pastry shop, isn’t just a month. It’s a state of mind.

The days begin when it’s still dark outside, and the workshop slowly lights up in the early morning, with the usual familiar sounds: bowls, ladles, the oven heating, the smell of butter warming. It’s a busy time, yes, but it’s also the time when we learn to trust time.

In December, you can’t rush. The dough demands attention, pauses, respect, time. There are gestures we’ve been repeating for years, and this month in particular, they seem to find their natural place. The cold helps, slows things down, brings order. The butter becomes more docile, the hands work with more precision, everything moves at a more balanced pace toward Christmas and the holidays.

Then the air in the laboratory changes scent. Spices, citrus fruits, vanilla arrive. You don’t need large quantities: it takes very little to transform the atmosphere. These scents belong not only to recipes, but to memories we relive year after year. They evoke laid tables, slow breakfasts, slices of Veneziana cheese cut calmly and shared without much thought.

December desserts don’t like shortcuts. There are leavenings that require hours and hours, rests that can’t be shortened, waits that are part of the final result. It’s a silent work, made of observation and listening. You learn to recognize when a dough is ready, when it still needs time, when it’s time to leave it alone.

Natural leavening, during this period, finds its best balance. The cold makes everything gentler, deeper. The cake rises slowly, develops complex aromas, becomes light. It’s a growth you don’t see right away, but you can feel it after the first bite.

December is also the month when pastry making becomes deeply familiar again. Each dessert speaks of hours of work, alternating hands, small gestures passed down. It’s not just what ends up in the window, like in a jewelry store: it’s the entire journey that takes place before being displayed.

This is why December desserts are different.
They’re not just delicious and tasty: they’re the result of a specific choice: to slow down, to respect the season, to value time. And perhaps that’s precisely what makes them special: knowing that behind every slice, there’s an entire month dedicated to their care.

This is how our Veneziane are born: time, care, and craftsmanship are the key words of our artisanal production.

Cappuccino: An Italian Embrace on Lake Garda

CATEGORIES

At La Fenice, cappuccino with Illy coffee is a small daily ritual that exudes Italian romance. Discover the history of this drink and indulge in its flavor during the holidays in our café overlooking Lake Garda.

A good morning that smells of happiness

There are mornings when it takes very little to feel at peace with the world.
A warm cup in your hands, the sunlight caressing the water, and the scent of Illy coffee slowly wafting in, enveloping everything. At La Fenice, this moment has a simple and perfect name: it’s called cappuccino.

It’s one of the symbols of Italy around the world, a small daily gesture that embodies our culture of taste, beauty, and time well spent.
Yes, because cappuccino isn’t just a drink: it’s a moment of self-love, a way to start the day calmly, perhaps gazing at Lake Garda from our glass veranda: it brings peace and relaxation.

The history of cappuccino: between legends, travels, and sweet treats

Like all beautiful things, cappuccino has a history lost between reality and legend. Its name seems to derive from the Capuchin friars, due to the color of the drink, once coffee is mixed with milk, which resembles the light brown of their habit.

One of the most fascinating versions tells of a certain Marco da Aviano, a Capuchin friar who was sent to Vienna in 1683. It seems that, while in a café, he drank a local coffee that was too bitter and asked for something to sweeten it. The waiter brought him a cup of coffee mixed with hot milk, and seeing the color, he exclaimed: “Kapuziner!”

Over time, that word later became the Italian “cappuccino.”
Of course, the drink back then was very different from the one we love today: the coffee was prepared “Turkish style” and the milk was not frothed. But the idea—that of combining the strength of coffee with the sweetness of milk—had already been born, and it worked!

Another theory traces the birth of cappuccino to an 18th-century Viennese drink, made with coffee, cream, and the inevitable spices, later perfected in Italy, especially in Trieste, home of the prestigious Illy coffee, where the company’s headquarters are still located today.

And it’s nice to think that, whatever the truth, cappuccino represents precisely this: a bridge between cultures, a meeting of delicacy and intensity, between the warmth of milk and the strength of coffee.

The Ritual Italian: cappuccino yes, but only until 11 (maybe)

“Italians only drink cappuccino in the morning.” How many times have you heard that? And it’s ultimately true: for us, cappuccino is synonymous with breakfast, with days that begin sweetly. It’s that moment when time seems to stand still, between the scent of frothed milk and the brioche slowly crumbling on the saucer (or better yet, soaked!).

But who said it has to be just that?
At La Fenice, especially in winter, we also love to offer afternoon cappuccinos, perfect to accompany a slice of cake made by our master pastry chefs, while outside the lights reflect on the water and couples warm their hands between sips.

Because yes, cappuccino can also be a romantic gesture, a way to slow down together, to share a small pleasure with those we love.

The art of cappuccino: between milk, coffee, and heart

At La Fenice, we believe that beauty lies in the details. And cappuccino with Illy coffee is the sweetest proof of this.

Our baristas prepare each cup with the same care with which an artist paints a picture: perfectly brewed coffee, fresh milk frothed to the perfect temperature, and a foam as soft as a cloud. Then, the finishing touch: a drawing. Hearts, leaves, flowers, stars: the magic of latte art transforms cappuccino into a little masterpiece that brings a smile even before the first sip.

And during the holidays, the decorations become even more poetic with a dusting of cocoa or cinnamon, a warm cup held tightly in your hands… and outside, the lake shimmers like a natural nativity scene.

The Fenice cappuccino: a treat with a lake view

The Fenice cappuccino is an experience that goes beyond taste. It’s a small sensory journey that engages all the senses: sight, with the beauty of the decorations and the lake in the background; smell, with the aroma of coffee blending with the scent of fresh milk (or the special plant-based milks we offer); The perfect balance of sweetness and intensity.

It’s a hug in a cup, a cuddle that tastes of home, love, and celebration.
Whether you’re coming for a romantic breakfast on Lake Garda or a sweet break between walks, we’ll welcome you with a smile, a creamy cappuccino, and the unmistakable aroma of Illy coffee.

La Fenice: Our story of rebirth on Lake Garda

CATEGORIES

There is a symbol that has fascinated humanity for centuries: the Phoenix, the mythological bird that, at the end of its life cycle, is engulfed in flames and then reborn from its ashes, stronger and more brilliant than before. A universal emblem of rebirth, hope, and courage.

We couldn’t have chosen a different name for our pastry shop. “La Fenice” isn’t just a place, but the representation of a dream that has transformed, just like the mythical creature. Where today our guests savor unique artisanal sweets, there was once a simple structure, a small, old annex for the hotel staff, a place without ambition, born for practicality.

Near our hotel is a large swimming pool directly on the lake, in the green park of our property. In such a context, however, a bar was missing, a place where customers could refresh themselves and refresh themselves, on the lake, with a view of Mount Baldo and Sirmione that our location offers us. “La Fenice” was born with this very idea: to be a small, intimate and confidential refreshment point for the guests of our historic Hotel Lugana Parco al Lago.

And then, from that ordinary project, a new vision blossomed: to create a refined and welcoming space, where the family tradition of tourism, the natural beauty of the location, and Italian craftsmanship could merge. Thus, our pastry shop and bistro was born, like the mythological phoenix rising from the ashes in a new, luminous form.

A place inspired by Liberty and the 1920s

Our identity is expressed not only in our desserts, but also in our spaces. The Art Nouveau style that characterizes our restaurant is a tribute to the 1920s, a period the Dal Cero family has always loved and sought after in its furniture, details, and books. The soft lines, refined details, and elegant atmosphere evoke an era when daily life intertwined with art and a desire for beauty.
Choosing this style means giving our guests an experience that is never banal: a breakfast or a snack here becomes a journey back in time.

Sweets that tell emotions

Every creation from our pastry shop is designed to tell a story. Over the years (yes, this year we’ve become 15!) we’ve selected the best pastry chefs and chefs, as well as waiters and waitresses, to ensure excellent service and, above all, quality in every creation, from cappuccino to artisanal mignon. This creates cakes that celebrate tradition, ice creams made with natural and carefully selected ingredients, leavened products that evoke the seasons and local memories (like our Luganott during the Lugana grape harvest). These aren’t just simple desserts, but sensory experiences that evoke emotions, designed and crafted with a specific goal: to be remembered. For tourists visiting Lake Garda, “La Fenice” becomes a special destination: a place to enjoy the local tradition with artisanal flair and discover new flavor combinations.

Lake Garda as a unique setting

Visiting “La Fenice” also means experiencing the unique magic of Lake Garda, which enchants with its colors at all times and in all seasons, its villages and landscapes. After a stroll along the lakeside or a visit to the historic family winery, Ca’ dei Frati, a stop with us becomes a moment to remember. Whether it’s breakfast with a frothy cappuccino, a refreshing snack with our artisanal gelato, or a shared cake at sunset, every moment becomes part of the memory of your trip, not forgetting a brunch, lunch, or dinner overlooking the lake with the cuisine of our 70% vegetarian Bistrot, featuring locally sourced meat and fish.

An invitation to be reborn every day

La Fenice isn’t just a name: it’s a philosophy. Our philosophy. We renew ourselves every day, just like the legend that inspires us. New ideas, new recipes, new emotions to offer those who choose us. We’re a constantly fermenting hotbed, and every time you stop by, you’ll find new creations, both sweet and savory. Because a dessert is never just sugar and flour: it’s a gesture of care, an act of rebirth, a way to make a moment special.
So, the next time you visit Lake Garda, we invite you to experience our story of rebirth: discover “La Fenice” and let yourself be surprised by the flavor of passion, tradition, and beauty.

All the sweets for Father’s Day

CATEGORIE

Father’s Day, celebrated on March 19 in conjunction with St. Joseph’s Day, is deeply rooted in Italian tradition. Not only does this day pay tribute to the father figure, but it also represents a journey through sweet delicacies that vary from region to region, each with its own peculiarities and fascinating stories, as children ideally present their father with a sweet to celebrate him.

St. Joseph’s zeppole: an icon of southern Italy

Originating in Campania, zeppole di San Giuseppe are perhaps the most emblematic dessert of this holiday. They are soft doughnuts made of choux pastry, fried or baked, filled with velvety homemade custard and adorned with a black cherry in syrup. Their history dates back to the 19th century, when the famous Neapolitan gastronome Ippolito Cavalcanti first mentioned them in 1837. Tradition has it that these delicacies are prepared in honor of St. Joseph, the patron saint of fathers and carpenters. Of course, there is no shortage of them in our display cases of sweets, fresh and ready to be enjoyed overlooking the lake!

St. Joseph’s cream puffs: the Roman tradition

In Rome, the celebration of Father’s Day is inextricably linked to St. Joseph’s cream puffs. These sweets, similar to zeppole, but round in shape, are always made with choux pastry and fried until perfectly golden and then filled with custard of various flavors, in addition to the classic vanilla. Their presence is so deeply rooted in Roman culture that there is a popular saying, “St. Joseph fritters,” to emphasize the custom of enjoying these delicacies during the holiday. There is no shortage of Phoenix-style cream puffs: hazelnut, pistachio, zabaglione, vanilla cream or cream and cream, there is something for everyone!”

Rice fritters: a Tuscan sweetness

In Tuscany, and particularly in the provinces of Florence and Siena, Father’s Day is the occasion to enjoy Frittelle di Riso. These golden morsels are prepared by cooking rice in milk with sugar and citrus zest, then fried to a crispy exterior that encloses a soft, aromatic heart. Their peasant origin makes them a symbol of simplicity and authenticity. On Lake Garda, on the other hand, frittelle are a typical Carnival dessert, and even at Fenice they are made artisanally with light flours and very soft fritters.

An invitation to discover traditional flavors

On the occasion of Father’s Day, our pastry shop La Fenice on Lake Garda is pleased to offer a selection of these traditional sweets, prepared with skill and passion by our Master Pastry Chefs: brioche in the shape of a bow tie, tie-shaped monoportions and chocolate in the shape of a mustache. We invite you to visit our venue together with your parents, to share moments of sweetness and celebrate this special occasion together, dedicating every sweet bite to your legendary dads.

Carnival: traditions in pastry making

CATEGORIES

Carnival Chiacchiere: all the names of a dessert that gets talked about

If there is a dessert that everyone agrees on at Carnival, it is undoubtedly the Chiacchiera. Crispy, golden and covered in icing sugar, this fried delight crosses Italy with a thousand different names, just like a harlequinade of flavors and traditions.
But why so many names? The answer is simple: each region wanted to put its personal touch on it, making the chatter not just a dessert, but a real story of local traditions, underlining different aspects and customs.

Le Chiacchiere in Italy: a journey through names

In Piedmont, for example, they call them Bugie, but in the Alessandria area they become Gasse, in the Cuneo area Risòle and in the Vercelli area Gale. Sliding into Val d’Aosta, however, we find the Merveilles, a name that already makes you dream. And Liguria? Here, the Bugie confirm themselves as protagonists, except in the Imperia area, where they prefer to call them Cròstoli. In Lombardy there is no lack of imagination: in Bergamo we find them as Galarane, in Brescia they become Saltasù (perhaps due to the lightness with which they are sautéed in boiling oil?), while in Mantua they are transformed into Lettuces, perhaps due to their crunchy thinness and their appearance. What if we go even further down? In Veneto and Trentino they become the Gròstoi or Galani, while in Emilia Romagna we indulge in the Fiocchetti (Rimini), the Intrigoni (Reggio Emilia), the Sprelle (Piacenza) and the Sfrappole (Modena, Bologna and Romagna). In short, different names for the same irresistible sin of gluttony!

Carnival Fritters: another delicious tradition

But Carnival wouldn’t be the same without another protagonist: the Carnival Fritter. This too, like the Chiacchiere, has a long and fascinating history. Born in Venice in 1300 and consecrated as the national dessert of the Serenissima in 1700, its production was an art reserved for a real corporation, that of the fritoleri. With its dough rich in raisins, pine nuts and sugar, the Frittella was fried in large pans and served with plenty of sugar. An icon so loved that it ended up in the pictorial works of Carlo Goldoni and Pietro Longhi.

But why are Carnival desserts generally fried?

The answer is simple: in winter, after the pigs were slaughtered in November, there was plenty of lard, the perfect ingredient to add crunch and flavor to the kitchen. And so, between a Chiacchiera and a Frittella, Carnival becomes a feast for the eyes and the palate.

And you, what do you call them?

Ti aspettiamo!

The magic of Lake Garda and the flavors of Christmas

CATEGORIES

Christmas in Sirmione is a truly special moment: the timeless beauty of Lake Garda is dressed in lights and scents that warm the soul. This year, like every year, we too have lit lights and trees to transform La Fenice into a warmer and more intimate place to celebrate the holidays. So we created a Christmas menu that recounts the Lombard-Venetian tradition with authentic dishes and ingredients from and from the area. A journey of flavors that unites past and present, perfect for celebrating the holidays together.

Tradition and comfort

Autumn in a bite: the special leavened product from Pasticceria La Fenice

CATEGORIES

There is an enchanted place where time mixes with the scent of earth and water, a place where autumn dances lightly between the hills and the lake, creating wonders. It is here, on the shores of Lake Garda, that a magic is born that melts at the first taste: the autumn leavened product from Pasticceria La Fenice, the Luganott.

It is not just a dessert, but an experience that envelops the senses and tells a story of passion, tradition and a deep connection with the territory. The master pastry chef Manuel Pedrali, with skilled hands and a heart full of love, has been able to create a work of art that embodies the essence of this season and of Garda itself.

Its softness is the first secret: every bite is a light caress, like the waves that lap the shore on October days. The scent is that of the harvest, of a golden autumn, which is released when the first slice is cut. It is there that the magic is revealed, taking us among the rows of the Turbiana vineyards, where the last grapes ripen under the autumn sun, capturing the energy of the earth and the lake.

Buy it on our online SHOP

Inside, Turbiana raisins which have been immersed for a long time in Ca’ dei Frati’s Lugana DOC wine, to absorb every nuance of this precious nectar which is a symbol of our land. A wine that speaks of our roots, of the effort and joy of the harvest, of the days spent among the vineyards breathing the breeze of Garda. When you encounter these tender and juicy raisins in the dessert, you feel like walking between the rows, feeling the warmth of the September sun on your skin and the scent of ripe grapes in the air.

Each slice of this leavened product is a sensorial journey. Its consistency, so soft, is the result of a slow, patient, almost meditative leavening, which leaves the task of perfecting its structure to time. It is as if every minute spent rising encloses a part of the landscape that surrounds it, the peace of the lake waters, the wisdom of the olive trees and the sweetness of the vineyards.

And while the dessert melts in your mouth, you let yourself be carried away by an atmosphere of warmth and welcome, typical of autumn kitchens, where the fire burns in the fireplace and the scent of baked desserts fills the house. This leavened product is not only the result of carefully chosen ingredients, but also of a craftsmanship that has been handed down, an ancient knowledge that has been able to adapt and grow, always keeping the link with the territory alive.

In the La Fenice Pasticceria, every autumn is celebrated with this dessert, which carries with it the mark of the earth and the heart. A registered trademark which is not only a sign of quality, but a promise: the promise of a unique experience, of a meeting between flavors and traditions that are renewed with every bite.

For those lucky enough to taste it, this leavened product becomes an indelible memory, like an October sunset on the lake, like the golden leaves falling lightly on the mountain paths. It is the symbol of autumn on Lake Garda, a small treasure that embodies the essence of this land, with all its splendor and sweetness.

Summer arrives with our ice cream coffees

CATEGORIE

The heat, the sun and the longer days require more energy: here are some new products designed for you that combine our artisanal ice cream with Illy coffee for maximum taste and quality. Hot coffee, an espresso fresh from the machine, meets the fresh and light ice cream of La Fenice: their combination creates a melting and comforting cream to be enjoyed by the lake.

We present to you our combinations for the summer with these bases:

Ofelia

the cold coffee suitable for lovers of an alcoholic touch in coffee. In fact, here we combine Illy espresso coffee with a scoop of our artisanal vanilla ice cream and then fresh whipped cream, cocoa powder as topping and the characterful note of Baileys.

Orfeo

for those who love traditional flavours, here we combine Illy espresso coffee with one of our best ice cream flavours: hazelnut. Finally, fresh whipped cream and hazelnuts to recall the flavor of ice cream, giving a fragrant and crunchy touch.

Opera

this is really recommended for those with a sweet tooth because it is a classic combination of coffee and chocolate. In the Illy espresso coffee we dip one of our legendary mignons (the name Opera derives from the pastry) made with layers of coffee and chocolate; finally fresh whipped cream and dark chocolate flakes.

Crema fredda al caffè

If you don’t like these new creations with our coffee, we have also thought of something simpler: cold coffee cream, an excellent variation on hot espresso coffee, for the summer. Creamy and tasty, it is an alternative to close the meal with an unusual coffee or as a mid-morning break or as a snack. Truly suitable for everyone: it does not contain gluten or lactose and is made with non-GMO ingredients. Have you already tried it?
